This Works – No Wrinkle Eye Repair – Review

I picked this up in TK Maxx for around £12ish I think! I absolutely love the packaging from this brand – it always looks so sleek!

I’d been keeping my eye out for a retinol based eye cream as I wanted something that actively made a difference to my under eye area rather than just hydrate it.

This eye cream contains an encapsulated retinol, which means it’s released slowly over time – the best way to use retinol. It also has hyaluronic acid to really hydrate the eye area & manilkara leaf to preserve elasticity.

The texture on this is very thick & creamy. This got me super excited as I thought this would be extremely moisturising alongside having retinol in it! It’s nude in colour & absorbed really well when I applied this. I only applied to my under eyes, my lids are quite sensitive & I wasn’t sure how they’d react to retinol!

I’d been using this for around 2 weeks when my under eyes really started to ache – that’s the only way I can describe the feeling! They were super sensitive to touch & my waterline/tear duct was super freaking sore! I couldn’t even lightly prod my under eye area without crying out in pain!

When I review a product, I normally only ever introduce/change that one product in my routine so I know what it can do for me, so I instantly knew it was this eye cream!

It surprised me as I use retinol all over my face & it sometimes blends into the eye area & I never get sensitive or damaged skin because of it. I’m not sure if it’s the blend or another ingredient in this eye cream, but it really damaged my skin & eyes!

I stopped using immediately & used marula oil every evening for about a week on it to soothe & the pain eventually died off thank god!

Have you used this eye cream before? How did you get on with it? I’m super disappointed as I thought I’d found a great active eye cream for a minute! Thank god I only paid £12 instead of the £40 it was worth!
