I just had to pick this up when it got released! Look how cute the packaging is for a start?! Plus autumn was coming nearer & I thought it couldn’t help to have a little assistance in the hydration department!
This 30ml bottle is around £37 on Cult Beauty, but keep an eye out for discount codes because they always have great offers on! I managed to pick it up for £29ish!
What stood out for me in this serum was the fact that it has five molecular weights of hyaluronic acid in it. Hyaluronic acid is naturally made by your body & is there to retain moisture & water in your body. It can hold 1000 times its weight in water! It’s great for hydration – dry skin types rejoice! It also contains vegan collagen & vegan silk protein. It claims to be able to diminish the appearance of fine lines & plump up the skin!
Plum Plump is a clear liquid & as you can see from the photo, it’s extremely runny! I was kind of expecting it to have a really strong plum scent – the rest of Glow Recipes products have such distinctive scents, you can definitely smell them across the room! This one is subtle though – I much prefer that too!
I only need 1 pump to cover my whole face when I use it. When I first started using it, I hated the way it felt on my skin. When I was massaging it in, it made my skin feel so bloody rough & it felt like it was foaming up on the surface! It also felt super sticky! I tried to make myself use it for another week, but I just gave up, I hated it! I was so cross, as it wasn’t cheap!
Fast forward to mid-September ish. I though ‘I have to give this another go.’ So when getting out the shower in the mornings, I’d apply it to my skin while it was still slightly damp – I wouldn’t dry it off completely, I’d just lightly pat my face. Hallelujah!! It actually soaked in like a dream!
After using it consistently in the mornings now as my first step after the shower, my skin has smoothed out amazingly. It hasn’t affected my makeup application or the absorption of my SPF either! My skin does feel super plump & it hasn’t broken me out at all!
Now winter is getting closer too, I’m definitely going to keep this in my routine, I might drop it during spring/summer months, but for now, it’s definitely a staple!
